The Becket Fund is not for or against adding federal holidays. As for religious ones, it makes no difference, as long as the federal government does not mandate observance of the religious nature of a day. At the same time, a government employee who presents a reasonable case for taking a day from work for religious observance should be accommodated, even if that day is not a state or federal holiday.
