Diana Verm of the Becket Fund, who argued the case, says the “humanists” allowed the appeal deadline to expire.

“So now we have a precedent in New Jersey that the Pledge of Allegiance is protected,” Verm tells OneNewsNow. She explains that Judge David F. Bauman ruled that the Pledge is a “patriotic exercise,” and stated that dissent is allowed – but not by silencing the majority.

“So if you disagree with the Pledge, you don’t have to say it,” Verm explains, “but you’re not allowed to silence other people.”

Verm says the New Jersey case is the fifth time in a row the Becket Fund has successfully defended the Pledge of Allegiance.
