Stephanie Keenan joined Becket’s communications department in 2013. She focuses primarily on writing for the team. Her work while at Becket has been published in USA Today, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Washington Examiner, The Hill, and Detroit News.
Prior to Becket, Stephanie gained communications skills while interning for various public relations and non-profit organizations – including a multicultural advocacy public relations firm, a non-profit coalition against domestic violence and sexual assault, and a pro-bono litigation communications resource that draws attention to mistakes and unfairness in death penalty and juvenile life imprisonment cases. Her experience included writing press releases, op-eds, and letters to the editor, launching and managing several social media platforms, and starting an e-newsletter.
She graduated cum laude from The George Washington University with a B.A. in journalism and mass communications and a minor in psychology. While at GWU, she was involved with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). A third degree black belt in taekwondo, Stephanie also represented her university at the National Collegiate Taekwondo Championships twice, winning bronze in 2012.
Stephanie grew up in Guam. She enjoys coffee, cooking, and calligraphy, and making cheesy video montages of her family’s vacations. She now lives in Tampa, Florida with her husband and their two young children.
